Welcome to West Wiltshire Ramblers

The West Wiltshire Group of Ramblers is a friendly, diverse group of people who mostly live in the many towns and villages within a ten mile radius of Trowbridge, the County Town of Wiltshire. We are drawn together by our love of walking in the countryside with like-minded individuals. We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the West Country, with the Cotswolds to our north, Salisbury Plain to our south, the Mendip Hills to our west and the Vale of Pewsey to our east all providing wonderful walking opportunities. Westbury White Horse (pictured above) can be seen from much of our area. If you fancy some fresh air, exercise and companionship on a walk then why not join us?

The West Wiltshire Group is one of five groups forming the Swindon and Wiltshire Area. All of our Committee members, walk leaders and work party members are unpaid volunteers who give up their time to facilitate our activities.

Walk Updates

Julie Cullen has now taken over from Jen Yearsley as our Walks Programme Secretary. Having reviewed current processes, she has decided that we will no longer publish a monthly walk Update. Members have been advised by email that the April Update was the last one. Transferring walk details from Walks Manager to the programme table was a cumbersome, time consuming process and the document was out of date as soon as it was issued. Details of new, amended or cancelled walks announced after it had been issued were not included. From now on details of our walks will only be found on either this website or the Ramblers Central Office website. Updates will appear as soon as they are released, so please check regularly, especially just before a walk if you plan to take part.
